As a professional extraction equipment manufacturer, the material selection of the extraction tank is crucial in the niobium wet extraction process. It directly impacts the equipment's corrosion resistance, service life, and the stability and efficiency of the extraction process. Given that the niobium wet extraction process utilizes extensive amounts of highly corrosive media such as sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid, which are not only highly oxidizing but also chemically reactive with various metals, the extraction tank material must possess excellent corrosion resistance.
While stainless steel offers some corrosion resistance, its performance is significantly compromised when exposed to high concentrations of hydrofluoric acid, making it difficult to maintain stable operation. Therefore, we typically choose more specialized corrosion-resistant materials, such as Hastelloy. Hastelloy's unique chemical composition forms a dense oxide film that effectively resists corrosion from strong acids like sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid, ensuring stable performance in harsh chemical environments.
In addition, for some non-critical parts or areas with relatively low corrosion levels, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) lining can also be considered. PTFE, known as the "King of Plastics," has excellent chemical stability and corrosion resistance, isolating the equipment substrate from direct contact with corrosive media, thereby extending the overall service life of the equipment.
In actual production, we comprehensively evaluate and select the most appropriate material combination based on the customer's specific process conditions, extraction medium composition, and equipment requirements. Through precise material selection, our extraction equipment can maximize its effectiveness during the wet extraction of niobium, providing customers with stable, reliable, efficient, and durable production solutions, and continuously promoting the high-quality development of the niobium industry.
