Working principle and advantages of copper extraction equipment

Release time:2025-10-22 08:47 Views:
  1. Working Principle

Copper extraction equipment primarily uses the liquid-liquid extraction principle to separate and enrich copper. Its core process involves two key stages: mixing and clarification.

    Copper extraction equipment

In the mixing chamber, the copper-containing leachate and the organic extractant are introduced simultaneously. Vigorous stirring ensures thorough contact and mixing between the two. The organic extractant is typically an organic solution containing a specific extractant that is highly selective for copper ions. During the mixing process, copper ions are transferred from the aqueous leachate phase to the organic phase. This process is based on the chemical interaction between the extractant and the copper ions, forming a stable complex, thereby extracting the copper.

The mixed solution then flows into the clarification chamber. In the clarification chamber, due to the difference in density between the organic and aqueous phases, gravity gradually separates the two phases. The denser aqueous phase resides at the bottom, while the organic phase containing the extracted copper ions floats on the top. Through appropriate structural design, such as dedicated overflow and drain ports, the two phases can be conveniently drained separately, effectively separating the copper from other components in the leachate.

  2. advantage

Copper extraction equipment offers numerous significant advantages. Simple operation is a key feature, with a high degree of automation throughout the entire process. Operators only need to monitor equipment operating parameters, such as stirring speed and flow rate, without requiring complex operating skills. Its large processing capacity meets the demands of large-scale copper production, effectively improving production efficiency. Furthermore, it is highly adaptable, capable of processing copper-containing leachates of varying compositions and concentrations, and exhibits good tolerance to fluctuations in raw material quality. Furthermore, this equipment offers advantages such as low energy consumption and operating costs, saving companies significant costs and improving economic efficiency over the long term.
