In the complex process of tantalum niobium production, each link is closely connected and has a profound impact on the quality of the final product. As a professional manufacturer in the field of extraction equipment, we have a deep understanding and grasp of this.
Ore pretreatment is the first step in tantalum niobium production. Tantalum niobium ore must first be crushed and ground into fine powder, and then decomposed by acid dissolution (commonly hydrofluoric acid) or alkali fusion to allow tantalum niobium to fully enter the solution. This step is crucial, and the pretreatment effect directly affects the subsequent extraction efficiency. If the ore is not completely decomposed, the tantalum niobium recovery rate will be reduced by 10% - 15%. Some mines optimize the grinding particle size and control it below 200 mesh, and the tantalum niobium leaching rate can be increased to 92%, which fully reflects the optimization space of the pretreatment link.
Entering the extraction and separation stage, our extraction equipment plays a key role. After mixing the tantalum niobium-containing liquid with the extractant in proportion, they are fully contacted in the extraction equipment. Since single-stage extraction is difficult to achieve separation requirements, we recommend the use of a multi-stage countercurrent extraction process. With the help of our equipment, the purity of tantalum niobium in the organic phase can be gradually improved. For example, when separating tantalum and niobium, by adjusting the acidity of the aqueous phase, tantalum enters the organic phase first, and niobium remains in the aqueous phase, achieving preliminary separation.
The stripping and purification stages also require efficient equipment. The organic phase loaded with tantalum or niobium enters the stripping tank, and a stripping agent (such as pure water or dilute acid) is added to transfer tantalum and niobium ions from the organic phase to the aqueous phase. After that, after crystallization, drying and other treatments, tantalum powder, niobium powder or its oxide with a purity of more than 99.9% can be obtained to meet the needs of high-end fields.
The extraction equipment we produce provides core equipment support for the entire process of tantalum and niobium production with outstanding technological innovation and continuous improvement of process standards, ensuring that each link can achieve intelligent and efficient operation from pretreatment optimization to extraction and purification, helping customers build internationally leading tantalum and niobium production lines and gain market competitive advantages.
