Wet extraction and stripping technology of rare metal tantalum

Release time:2025-07-26 09:00 Views:

In the vast field of metal extraction, tantalum and niobium have become indispensable key elements in modern industry due to their unique physical and chemical properties. However, they often coexist in ores, and efficient and accurate separation has become an industry problem. As an extraction equipment manufacturer, we are well aware of the challenges and help overcome difficulties with professional equipment.

Extraction tank equipment

Tantalum, with a silver-gray metallic luster and dark gray powder, is widely used in alloys, cables, surgical instruments, capacitors and other fields; niobium is also silver-gray and light gray powder, and is the core raw material for manufacturing high-tech products such as superconducting magnets. Both resources are precious and widely used, and extraction and separation technology is crucial.

In the tantalum-niobium wet extraction and separation process, the filtrate must first enter our carefully designed extraction equipment and undergo 16 levels of extraction to achieve efficient separation of tantalum and niobium. After the raffinate is supplemented with hydrofluoric acid, it can be returned to the hydrofluoric acid leaching process to achieve resource recycling.

The organic phase after extraction contains not only tantalum and niobium, but also ppm-level base metals. At this time, the stripping equipment we provide comes into play, washing the organic phase with an acid stripping agent to purify tantalum and niobium. The waste acid after washing is returned to the sulfuric acid leaching process, which is green and environmentally friendly.

For the stripping of tantalum, we use a 16-stage stripping process to ensure the stripping effect. Our equipment also provides stable support for the subsequent generation of potassium fluorotantalate and reduction of metal tantalum powder. From the cooling, filtration and washing of the potassium fluorotantalate solution, to the reduction with metallic sodium in a vacuum reduction furnace after drying, to the cooling, washing and drying of the metal tantalum powder, each step is precisely guaranteed by our professional equipment.

As an extraction equipment manufacturer, we use professional technology and reliable equipment to escort the tantalum-niobium wet extraction process and promote the continuous development of the industry.
