Precision temperature control of antimony refining furnaces plays a decisive role in the production of antimony ingots and antimony oxide, and is related to product quality, production efficiency and equipment safety.

In antimony ingot production, temperature control is a critical factor influencing the effectiveness of impurity separation. If the temperature is too low, the fluidity of the antimony liquid will significantly deteriorate. This makes it difficult to effectively separate impurities from the antimony, resulting in substandard purity in the final product, impacting the quality and market value of the antimony ingot. Excessively high temperatures also pose serious challenges. Antimony is susceptible to oxidation and volatilization, and high temperatures exacerbate this process, causing significant amounts of antimony to be lost as oxides, reducing direct yields and increasing production costs. Furthermore, excessively high temperatures can damage the furnace lining, shortening its service life, increasing equipment maintenance and replacement costs, and impacting the continuity and stability of production.
Antimony oxide production places even stricter temperature requirements. Temperatures must be strictly controlled within a specific range, typically above 1000°C, to ensure efficient volatilization of Sb₂O₃. Within this temperature range, both production efficiency and quality of antimony oxide are guaranteed. However, once the temperature exceeds the upper limit, problems arise. Excessively high temperatures can cause the product to sinter, altering its physical properties and chemical composition, resulting in products that fail to meet quality standards. Furthermore, the furnace lining can be damaged by the high temperatures, hindering production schedules and potentially causing safety incidents.
In summary, precise temperature control of antimony refining furnace is the core link to ensure high quality, high efficiency, low cost and safe production of antimony ingots and antimony oxide.
