In the field of scrap copper recycling, reverberatory furnaces are common smelting equipment, and they have unique performance when processing high-grade scrap copper.
Advantages of reverberatory furnace smelting of high-grade scrap copper:

Firstly, it has strong adaptability to raw materials. Whether it is large pieces of waste or packaged materials, it is not demanding in terms of cleanliness and can be effectively processed.
Secondly, it is simple and easy to operate. The mature technology, coupled with experienced operators, allows for flexible adjustment of the production rhythm.
Third, the investment cost is relatively low. Compared with advanced automated furnaces, the construction and equipment investment is less, making it suitable for companies with limited funds.
Fourth, it can perform refining operations, completing melting and simple oxidation-reduction refining in one furnace, achieving multiple uses for one furnace.
Disadvantages of reverberatory furnace smelting of high-grade scrap copper: High energy consumption and low thermal efficiency are prominent issues. A large amount of heat is carried away by the flue gas, resulting in low thermal efficiency and high energy costs. Metal recovery rate is low, with some copper oxidation entering the flue dust and slag, causing losses. Production efficiency is low, with intermittent operation leading to long production cycles and low furnace utilization. Labor intensity is high and the environment is poor, relying on manual operation, with high temperatures and large amounts of flue gas at the furnace front. Environmental pressure is significant, as the large volume of flue gas may contain harmful substances, requiring a large-scale treatment system to meet standards.
In summary, reverberatory furnace smelting of high-grade scrap copper has both advantages and disadvantages. Enterprises need to comprehensively consider their own conditions and make reasonable selections for smelting equipment.
