In the complex processing system of antimony ore, the rotary furnace occupies a pivotal position. It is not only the core equipment of the high-temperature reduction smelting link, but also the key hub to promote the efficient and environmentally friendly transformation of antimony resources, especially the transformation into high-value-added products such as antimony trioxide. Its role runs through the entire processing process and drives the stable operation of the entire process system.
1. High-temperature reduction smelting
Under the specific high-temperature environment conditions in the rotary furnace, the desulfurized ore powder undergoes a reduction reaction. During this reaction, the antimony element in the desulfurized ore powder is reduced, and finally crude antimony liquid metal is produced. This crude antimony liquid metal is the source of all subsequent antimony product production and provides the basic raw materials for the entire antimony product industry chain.
2. Energy circulation hub
The rotary furnace also bears the important responsibility of providing the necessary heat for the front-end rotary kiln roasting process. Through this internal energy circulation design, the overall thermal efficiency of the system is greatly improved. This design reduces the system's dependence on external energy, significantly reduces the consumption of external energy, and fully reflects the scientificity and wisdom of the antimony ore processing technology design.
3. Oxidation and volatilization
The crude antimony liquid metal is further oxidized in the rotary refining furnace. During the oxidation process, the antimony liquid generates gaseous antimony trioxide (Sb2O₃). Since antimony trioxide is highly volatile under high temperature conditions, it can be separated from the antimony liquid, providing convenient conditions for subsequent collection and purification.
